Our Services

  • We provide credit assistance and debt management services under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009.

  • Our role is to assist you in managing your credit profile by identifying and seeking the correction or removal of incorrect, unsubstantiated, or unfair listings.

  • Edit Credit is not a credit provider, lender, or law firm. We do not provide credit ourselves or offer legal advice.

 

Service Limitations and No Guarantees

  • We investigate and dispute listings based on the information provided by you and held by third parties.

  • We do not guarantee the removal of all information or specific changes to your credit score.

  • Results are dependent on the accuracy of your individual credit report and the response of third-party Credit Reporting Bodies (CRBs) or lenders.

 

Our Obligations Before Providing Credit Assistance

  • Under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, we must not provide credit assistance if the contract is unsuitable for you.

  • We must make reasonable enquiries about your financial situation and verify that information before proceeding.

Assessment Requests

  • We conduct an assessment to ensure our services are not unsuitable for your situation. You may request a written copy of this assessment at no charge within seven years of the assessment date. We will provide this within 7 business days if requested within the first two years, or 21 business days thereafter.

Conflicts of Interest

  • Sole Agency: We act as your authorised agent and maintain our duty to act in your best interests. We do not receive commissions from lenders for the credit repair work we perform for you.

  • Referral Fees Paid by Us: We may pay a fee to third parties (such as mortgage brokers) who refer you to our services. This fee is a cost of our business and is included in the service fee quoted to you.

  • Referral Fees Received by Us: If we refer you to a lender or other service provider and you proceed with their products, we may receive a referral fee or commission from that provider.

 

Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR)

If you have a complaint, please contact our Complaints Officer first so we can resolve the issue:

  • We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and provide a substantive response within 30 days.

External Dispute Resolution (AFCA)

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), of which we are a member:
